Man is a Sinner

FIRST…
Of all, we would like to thank you for your interest into this topic about man is a sinner. I believe for you to want to look into this very topic speaks much about your heartfelt need to want to know more about this crucial subject of sin but more so I believe that God himself is drawing you to this very particular topic.

The meaning of sin is the meaning of 'missing the mark'. It means God has set a mark or a reference or guide to right living but mankind has miss that mark or reference and instead of following Gods direction has gone on a different direction.

NOW…
There are 2 ways that one can miss the mark or there are 2 kinds of sin.

The 1st kind is call the sins of commission and this is when someone does something that is not right that he knows by his conscience that he should not be doing whereas the 2nd kind is call the sin of omission and this is when someone fail to do that which he knows by his conscience he is to do.

For the sin of commission, this includes not just a physical act but also it includes what is committed in the thought area. In Matthew 5:28, Jesus says this words... But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

For the sin of omission, it is when we fail to do what is our responsibility to do like for example when a husband fail to love his wife or when a child failed to honor his parents or when we fail to honour God when we are suppose to, we have then sin.

NOW…
The issue of sin is more than just about commission or omission but rather is about “against”.
When someone sin, he is not just doing a wrong but he is doing a wrong against and that is he is sinning against God.
@ In Psalms 51: 4, David when he fell into sin says these words “Against you (God) and you (God) only have I sinned”
Sin is about going against and it is about going against God, against what he stands for and against his very nature which is the nature of holiness.
And since God is a holy God, it than means sin or sinners cannot be in the presence of a holy God just as darkness cannot be in the presence of light, which than means sinners cannot make heaven their home when they step into eternity, for heaven is the dwelling place of God who is holy.
Herewith are some examples of sins that the bible speaks about; pride, jealousy, adultery, fornication, envy, greed, dishonesty, gossip, slander, idolatry, unforgiveness, hate, murder, theft, rebellion etc, etc...
Listed below as well are a few scriptures about this subject of sin.
@ In Psalm 51:5 "I was sinful at birth, filled with sin from the time my mother conceived me"
This scripture actually tell us that when we are born into this world, we are born with a sinful nature. You can see that in a child who is never taught to lie but he or she somehow will tell a lie without a blink of an eye. We have this because of our very first parent Adam and Eve
@ Psalm 14:1-3 "There is no one righteous, not even one . . . there is no one who does good, . not even one"
@ Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
@ In jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately corrupt"
One very important point to note, that is because God is a holy God, sinners therefore cannot be in the presences of a holy God which means he cannot make heaven his home.
